Functional & Nutritional Profile

Green banana powder is valued in formulation for what it naturally contains — not for added actives. Wording below uses market-safe structure/function language; approve final claims per target market.

Natural source of resistant starch (RS2)

Resistant starch resists digestion in the small intestine and reaches the colon intact.

Rich in dietary fibre

Supports fibre-enrichment claims in finished products, subject to local thresholds.

Prebiotic substrate

Resistant starch is fermented by colonic bacteria, producing short-chain fatty acids.

Supports digestive wellness

As part of a balanced diet, fibre contributes to normal bowel function.

Clean label, naturally gluten-free

One ingredient: green banana. No preservatives, no added color.

Research & Science

The Science of Resistant Starch

Green bananas are one of the richest natural sources of type-2 resistant starch (RS2). Unlike ordinary starch, RS2 resists digestion in the small intestine and is fermented in the colon, where it acts as a substrate for beneficial bacteria and the production of short-chain fatty acids. A growing body of peer-reviewed research explores its role in digestive health and post-meal glycaemic response.
